Lead Software Engineer - Tax Product Development

Base Salary
$140k - $210k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and implementation of major systems and features for tax-focused software products.
- Own end-to-end delivery of large features and systems, including technical requirements, architecture, development, testing, and production support.
- Develop and maintain web-based tax applications using Microsoft and cloud technologies.
- Review business requirements for technical feasibility and collaborate with architects, security teams, stakeholders, and cross-functional groups.
- Mentor junior engineers, lead code reviews, establish coding standards, and reduce technical debt.
- Champion secure coding and compliance with IT, security, business, and tax product standards.
- Maintain products and platforms according to product roadmaps and production support processes.
- Supervise assigned team members and serve as a career advisor when assigned.
- Manage complex software projects while aligning development with business goals and strategic direction.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required; preferred fields include Computer Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, Finance, or Accounting.
- Six or more years of hands-on experience building web-based applications with the full Microsoft stack, including C#, ASP.NET, HTML, JavaScript frameworks such as Angular and TypeScript, and React or similar technologies.
- Six or more years of experience developing stored procedures and database schemas with SQL Server, Azure SQL, or NoSQL databases.
- Six or more years of experience designing and automating CI/CD and DevOps pipelines preferred.
- Six or more years of experience working with Microsoft Azure and Azure Portal preferred.
- Six or more years of experience with application monitoring tools, App Monitoring, App Insights, and Power BI preferred.
- Proficiency in software engineering and object-oriented programming principles, software design, algorithms, data structures, data modeling, design patterns, clean code, and coding standards preferred.
- Proven ability to lead and mentor software engineers and deliver complex projects on schedule preferred.
- Experience aligning software development with business goals and strategic vision preferred.
- Proficiency with PowerShell, Graph API, and Azure CLI preferred.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Visual Studio, Microsoft Azure DevOps or GitHub, Microsoft SQL Server or Azure SQL Database, Microsoft Power BI, PowerApps, Azure Functions, and HTTP debugging tools preferred.
- Preferred certifications include Microsoft MTA or MCSD, Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900), Microsoft Azure Developer Associate, or Azure Solutions Architect.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, customer relationship, training, decision-making, multitasking, independent-work, and problem-solving abilities.
