Responsibilities
- Lead a portfolio of diverse technology projects and a team of developers building distributed microservices and full-stack systems.
- Develop solutions that meet enterprise and regulatory needs.
- Collaborate with digital product managers to deliver robust cloud-based solutions.
- Use Java, HTML/CSS, Python, relational and NoSQL databases, Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS services.
- Mentor engineering community members and participate in internal and external technology communities.
- Experiment with and learn new technologies, including interactive AI tooling that accelerates productivity.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree.
- At least 4 years of software engineering experience; internship experience does not apply.
- At least 1 year of experience with cloud computing using AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Preferred: master’s degree.
- Preferred: 7+ years of experience with Java or Python.
- Preferred: 2+ years of API design, data pipelines, and cloud infrastructure experience, with AWS preferred.
- Preferred: 4+ years of experience with open source frameworks.
- Preferred: 2+ years of experience with Agile practices.
- Experience leveraging interactive AI tooling beyond basic code completion.

- Full-time annual salary ranges vary by location: McLean $197,300–$225,100; New York $215,200–$245,600; Richmond $179,400–$204,700.
- Eligible for performance-based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonuses and long-term incentives.
