Responsibilities

Build, scale, document, and maintain products in the pennylane.ai ecosystem.
Design and implement robust APIs for internal services, external services, and web front ends.
Collaborate with product owners to derive requirements and validate technical feasibility.
Maintain high-quality production code through automated test coverage and code review.
Own a significant portion of the product domain and advocate for new technologies.
Lead the design of large-scale, fault-tolerant, distributed systems.
Improve engineering processes to support developer efficiency and consistent product delivery.
Manage deployment pipelines and mentor developers at the senior or technical-lead level.

Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Math, or a related field.
Intermediate candidates require 3+ years of professional software development experience; senior candidates require 6+ years.
Strong knowledge of Python, Go, or Rust.
Proficiency with PostgreSQL and SQL optimization.
Experience with Docker, infrastructure as code, and deployment to cloud providers such as AWS or Google Cloud.
Preferred experience building large-scale fault-tolerant distributed systems and applying distributed-system patterns and performance tuning.
Preferred experience with GitHub Actions, Terraform, NextJS, and React.
Preferred technical leadership, complex project delivery, developer mentoring, and strong communication skills.

Base salary is CAD 100,000–140,000 for intermediate candidates and CAD 150,000–180,000 for senior candidates, determined by location, experience, and internal benchmarks.
