Base Salary
$155k - $180k/yr
Responsibilities
- Act as a technical leader and subject matter expert in data pipeline automation and workflow orchestration.
- Design, implement, maintain, monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize scalable data solutions using Airflow, dbt, and Google Cloud data products.
- Manage a large portfolio of dbt models using macros, DRY patterns, and dbt tests.
- Architect reusable data and software patterns, improve delivery speed and quality, and document implementations, configurations, and deployments.
- Support QA, continuous integration and delivery, test-driven development, and reliable engineering processes.
- Ensure data security, governance, compliance, and adherence to privacy restrictions.
- Mentor engineers, guide cross-functional teams and projects, and participate in agile ceremonies.
Requirements
- Minimum 7+ years of software development experience with extensive Python, SQL, and data pipeline experience.
- Expertise building and automating ETL/ELT pipelines with Airflow and DAG-based workflow management.
- Deep experience managing dbt models with macros and dbt tests.
- Mastery of Python or a comparable scripting language, API integrations, and software architecture.
- Deep experience with PostgreSQL and BigQuery, including query optimization for performance and cost.
- Understanding of business intelligence tools such as Looker or comparable alternatives.
- Experience with Google Cloud Platform, Kubernetes, and infrastructure as code using Terraform.
- Proficiency with Parquet, Avro, Hive, JSONL, and data integration techniques.
- Familiarity with Prometheus, Grafana, version control systems, and GitHub Actions.
- Strong command of agile methodologies, continuous integration, and test-driven development.
- Exceptional problem-solving, technical leadership, cross-functional influence, and mentoring abilities.
- Experience with Airbyte is a plus.
