Responsibilities
- Design, optimize, and maintain resilient backend services and database infrastructure.
- Develop system automation, tooling, and backend scripts using Python and Perl.
- Build high-performance applications with Java and C++.
- Administer Linux/Unix systems and troubleshoot processes, logs, resource bottlenecks, and performance issues.
- Manage or interface with relational and in-memory database systems.
- Apply SQL, schema design, index optimization, and transaction mechanics.
- Use Git workflows including branching, merging, pull requests, code reviews, and conflict resolution.
- Support database high availability through replication, multi-site setups, or failover cluster configurations.
Requirements
- Strong programming proficiency in Python and Perl.
- Hands-on experience with Java and C++.
- Deep familiarity with Linux/Unix operating systems, system architecture, command-line navigation, SSH, and terminal-based server environments.
- Experience managing or interfacing with at least one relational or in-memory database system, such as PostgreSQL, GridGain, or Oracle TimesTen.
- Strong foundational knowledge of SQL, schema design, index optimization, and transaction mechanics.
- Proficiency with Git workflows and collaborative code review practices.
- Understanding of database replication, multi-site configurations, or failover clusters is preferred.
- Experience integrating automated test and deployment pipelines is preferred.
