Responsibilities
- Lead technical design and delivery for a squad in an agile and DevSecOps environment.
- Provide day-to-day technical direction by decomposing work, defining approaches, unblocking engineers, and ensuring quality outcomes.
- Remain hands-on in backend, pipeline, automation, and full-stack development.
- Design and evolve microservices and internal platforms for scanning, vulnerability management, workflow, reporting, and assurance use cases.
- Build and improve CI/CD pipelines, service operability, observability, release discipline, documentation, and incident remediation practices.
- Establish team-level engineering standards, reusable patterns, service templates, libraries, testing practices, and branching strategies.
- Build AI-enabled cybersecurity features and promote secure, governed use of AI coding tools.
- Mentor engineers through pairing, design reviews, and peer reviews while partnering with Product Owners and cybersecurity stakeholders.
Requirements
- Strong proven experience delivering production services in Python using FastAPI, Flask, or Django.
- Demonstrable experience designing REST API services, third-party integrations, and internal end-user services.
- Solid experience with microservice architecture and distributed-systems patterns.
- Strong hands-on experience deploying with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Strong CI/CD engineering experience with automated tests and release pipelines, including Jenkins or GitLab.
- Strong Linux administration and core networking knowledge.
- Proficiency with Git and branching strategies.
- Strong SQL skills, including complex queries.
- Experience making technical design decisions, guiding engineers, mentoring, and raising engineering standards.
- Experience building AI-enabled software using ML/NLP services, LLM-based components, or applied AI workflows, and using AI coding tools with quality controls.
- Clear communication skills, inclusive leadership, and the ability to operate safely in a regulated global environment.
- Cybersecurity engineering experience such as SAST/DAST integration, penetration-testing concepts, fuzzing, or threat detection is desirable.
- Cloud platform delivery with AWS, Azure, or GCP; Terraform; Prometheus or service-mesh experience is desirable.
- Strong frontend experience with React, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript is desirable.
- Experience with relational and non-relational databases, including Postgres, MSSQL, or MongoDB, and performance tuning is desirable.
- Experience with message queues such as Kafka or RabbitMQ is desirable.
