Responsibilities
- Lead the design and delivery of Java/Spring Boot backend services and platform components.
- Own solutions end to end from architecture and technical design through deployment, monitoring, and production support.
- Build and operate event-driven, real-time data pipelines using Kafka and related streaming technologies.
- Design data architectures using PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redshift, SQL, and data modeling practices.
- Design and maintain Java-based REST, OpenAPI, GraphQL, and gRPC APIs and microservices.
- Optimize systems for performance, scalability, resiliency, fault tolerance, high availability, and low latency.
- Lead technical decision-making, code reviews, engineering standards, and delivery across globally distributed teams.
- Mentor junior and mid-level engineers and provide technical guidance.
- Identify, scope, and propose solutions to complex technical problems with minimal direction.
- Collaborate with investment banking stakeholders, product managers, and cross-functional technology teams.
Requirements
- 12+ years of hands-on experience building enterprise-grade backend systems.
- Strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, microservices architecture, and distributed systems.
- Proven experience with Kafka and event-driven architectures in high-throughput environments.
- Solid SQL and data-modeling experience across relational and NoSQL systems.
- Hands-on experience with AWS, EKS, Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Demonstrated ability to design fault-tolerant and highly available systems.
- Ability to explain complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience independently architecting multi-service, cloud-native solutions and leading engineering delivery end to end.
- Preferred experience includes Python/FastAPI, investment banking or financial services, Apache ecosystem technologies, Salesforce, Tableau CRM, Cognos, Power BI, Databricks, StreamSets, MuleSoft, Angular, React, and TypeScript.
