Responsibilities
- Deliver on goals spanning a 6-18 month timeframe.
- Define the roadmap for the next 12 months.
- Write well-tested, production-ready code in Rust.
- Drive improvements to processes and tools across the organization.
- Use observability tools to inform decisions and measure impact.
- Investigate performance regressions and guide complex changes.
- Champion operational excellence and participate in on-call rotation.
- Mentor junior engineers and cultivate talent through knowledge sharing.
- Handle time-sensitive customer escalations.
- Propose and advocate for high-impact projects across teams.
- Drive consensus on complex issues affecting multiple teams.
- Occasionally travel to the US for team collaboration.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in programming, debugging, and performance tuning of distributed systems.
- Experience in systems languages such as C, C++, or Rust.
- Proven track record as a technical leader.
- Strong understanding of systems fundamentals like cache management and transactions.
- Comfortable with highly concurrent, asynchronous services.
- Experience with large, scalable, and performant systems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Desire to learn and grow in computer science and software engineering.
