Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership and engineering direction across complex software initiatives.
- Lead system design and make architectural decisions for secure, scalable, high-performance distributed applications.
- Design and evolve APIs and microservices using Java, Spring Boot, Node.js, and TypeScript.
- Build cloud-native solutions using AWS, Kubernetes, containerisation, and Infrastructure as Code.
- Apply event-driven architecture and messaging technologies such as Kafka to solve integration and distributed-system challenges.
- Champion CI/CD, DevSecOps, observability, resilience, and production lifecycle ownership.
- Establish technical direction across multiple engineering teams and squads.
- Coach and mentor engineers and influence engineering standards and practices.
- Contribute to PayTo mandate-management capabilities supporting scheduled payments.
Requirements
- Strong modern software engineering experience with Java and Spring Boot and/or Node.js and TypeScript.
- Hands-on experience designing APIs, microservices, and distributed applications.
- Strong cloud-native engineering experience with AWS and exposure to Kubernetes, containerisation, and Infrastructure as Code.
- Experience designing or working with event-driven architectures, ideally using Kafka or similar messaging platforms.
- Strong knowledge of CI/CD and DevSecOps, including observability, resilience, and software production lifecycle ownership.
- Strong system-design skills and experience making architectural decisions across complex technology environments.
- Experience providing technical leadership across multiple engineering teams or squads.
- Demonstrated ability to coach and mentor engineers and influence technical standards beyond the immediate team.
- Exposure to AI-assisted engineering tools or practices is valuable.
