Responsibilities
- Set the engineering vision, technical roadmap, and long-term architectural direction for critical platforms, systems, and services.
- Lead large-scale platform modernisation across legacy, cloud, API, microservices, and service-domain architectures.
- Improve secure design, delivery, observability, reliability, resilience, developer experience, controls, and production readiness.
- Partner with Product, Architecture, Risk, and Delivery leaders to balance engineering quality, customer impact, delivery pace, and operational risk.
- Identify and apply AI, GenAI, and emerging technologies to improve engineering, colleague, and customer experiences.
- Provide technical direction and guardrails to engineering teams and mentor the next generation of engineering leaders.
Requirements
- Deep technical credibility and architectural judgment gained in large-scale, complex engineering environments.
- Demonstrated experience transforming complex technology landscapes and shaping modern architectures across cloud, APIs, services, platforms, and SaaS ecosystems.
- Practical experience applying AI, GenAI, and emerging technologies to engineering, colleague, or customer outcomes.
- Strong standards for engineering excellence across secure design, CI/CD, observability, resilience, reliability, controls, and operational readiness.
- Technical breadth spanning architecture, platforms, infrastructure, software, data, strategic technology direction, and code-level detail.
- Ability to influence engineering thinking at scale, make difficult technical decisions, and grow technical leaders and engineering capability.
