Base Salary

$110k - $151k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Design and own OpenAPI interfaces, typed message schemas, and versioning contracts between the Libraries and four products.
  • Build and operate the shared discovery layer for search, relevance, and retrieval across a heterogeneous content library.
  • Create and maintain continuous delivery pipelines for code, infrastructure, configuration, and data.
  • Design infrastructure as code using Terraform on AWS.
  • Evolve engineering culture, standards, security, governance, and technical best practices.
  • Mentor engineers and collaborate with distributed engineering, product, and design teams.

Requirements

  • Substantial professional experience building and operating production backend services.
  • Strong TypeScript proficiency or strong ability in a comparable typed language with willingness to work in a strict-TypeScript codebase.
  • Demonstrated ownership of API contracts in multi-service systems, including design, versioning, and contract testing.
  • Deep cloud operations experience, including infrastructure design and infrastructure as code with Terraform on AWS.
  • Deep release engineering experience building and maintaining continuous delivery pipelines and reducing build and release toil.
  • Effective communication and ability to explain technical trade-offs to non-technical audiences.
  • Experience mentoring engineers.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent industry experience.
  • Authorization to work for any employer in the United States without current or future sponsorship.
