Lead Software Developer
Micro FocusResponsibilities
- Analyze, design, program, debug, test, and modify backend software enhancements and new products.
- Develop scalable product architectures and software development methodologies across multiple platforms and organizations.
- Implement backend systems using Java, gRPC, microservices, APIs, and structured databases.
- Lead DevOps initiatives involving containerization and CI/CD pipelines.
- Review designs and project activities for compliance with development standards, providing feedback to improve product quality and reduce risk.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and outsourced development partnerships for alignment with the technology roadmap.
- Troubleshoot complex issues involving concurrency, multithreading, distributed systems, and performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, conduct code reviews, and deliver robust software solutions.
- Mentor less-experienced developers and influence technical decisions with business and domain expertise.
- Complete installation and maintenance documentation and interact with users to clarify requirements when needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field.
- At least 8 years of hands-on software development experience focused on backend systems.
- Deep expertise in Core Java, including threads, concurrency, collections, and exception handling.
- Strong experience with gRPC, microservices architecture, APIs, and JSON.
- Experience leading DevOps initiatives using Docker, Kubernetes, Helm Charts, GitLab, and Jenkins.
- Extensive PostgreSQL and structured database experience, including data modeling and query optimization.
- Demonstrated ability to lead the design and delivery of scalable, robust backend systems.
- Strong troubleshooting, performance, security, collaboration, code review, mentoring, and communication skills.
- Ability to communicate complex architectures and proposals to technical, non-technical, and executive stakeholders.
- Preferred experience with AWS, Python scripting, AI, large language models, prompt engineering, application security, SAST, DAST, and Agile development.
- Experience in distributed global teams and a record of innovation through patents or deployed software solutions are preferred.
