Responsibilities

  • Develop resilient, well-tested software and participate in code reviews and quality improvement.
  • Create flexible, accessible, and intuitive user interfaces for technical users and engage with end users to understand their needs.
  • Design and maintain backend services that meet performance, availability, and reliability SLAs.
  • Identify and resolve production performance bottlenecks and maintain monitoring, logging, and alerting frameworks.
  • Build automation for deployments, scaling, failover, and other routine tasks, and contribute to CI/CD improvements.
  • Share knowledge, improve inefficient ways of working, and collaborate with customers, stakeholders, and engineering teams.

Requirements

  • Experience in software development, programming, or scripting.
  • Experience with software testing, DevOps, or infrastructure and test automation frameworks.
  • Experience using Jira, Confluence, and Git-based platforms such as GitHub, GitLab, or Bitbucket.
  • Experience working in Agile software development teams.
  • Interest or experience in areas such as mobile development, reverse engineering, vulnerability research, software security, distributed systems, high-performance computing, operating systems, accessible interfaces, automation, platform engineering, containerisation, or cloud-native technologies.
  • Eligibility for UK Developed Vetting (DV) clearance; applicants must typically be sole British citizens and have lived continuously in the UK for the previous 10 years, subject to UK Government vetting requirements.
