Responsibilities
- Develop, ship, and maintain features for Agentic Tools across the GitLab backend.
- Collaborate with Product Management, UX, and AI specialists to refine product requirements.
- Design, implement, and review REST and GraphQL APIs ensuring reliability and scalability.
- Improve automated testing processes to enhance quality and developer feedback.
- Share standards and learnings to promote responsible AI integration across the team.
- Participate in on-call rotations to troubleshoot production issues and enhance system resiliency.
Requirements
- Experience building and maintaining production applications with Ruby on Rails.
- Comfortable working across the stack in a mature codebase; familiarity with Python and Vue is a plus.
- Proficiency in designing REST and GraphQL APIs with attention to scalability.
- Strong practical experience with AI tooling and shipping AI-powered backend features.
- SQL skills and familiarity with relational databases like PostgreSQL.
- Openness to learning and collaborating in a distributed team environment.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills for technical documentation.
