Base Salary

$168k - $227k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain foundational software and interface services for Amazon Leo government customers.
  • Develop high-data-rate network packet-processing systems using network-layer packet processing and Software Defined Networking.
  • Define and demonstrate interfaces and architectures in simulated test environments.
  • Solve complex software and satellite communications problems with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Lead internal and vendor teams in delivering software and interface requirements.
  • Ensure systems meet performance, availability, reliability, upgradeability, interoperability, and security requirements.
  • Communicate project health, risks, and issues to stakeholders and management, escalate urgent issues, and drive them to closure.
  • Create visualizations, document results, and communicate findings across project teams.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
  • 5+ years of programming experience with at least one software programming language.
  • 5+ years of experience leading the design or architecture of new and existing systems, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
  • Experience as a mentor, tech lead, or engineering-team leader.
  • Preferred: 5+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
  • Preferred: bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent.
  • U.S. citizenship is required to comply with U.S. government requirements.

  • Base salary range of $168,100.00-$227,400.00 annually, with additional sign-on payments and restricted stock units.
