Base Salary
$168k - $227k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain foundational software and interface services for Amazon Leo government customers.
- Develop high-data-rate network packet-processing systems using network-layer packet processing and Software Defined Networking.
- Define and demonstrate interfaces and architectures in simulated test environments.
- Solve complex software and satellite communications problems with multidisciplinary teams.
- Lead internal and vendor teams in delivering software and interface requirements.
- Ensure systems meet performance, availability, reliability, upgradeability, interoperability, and security requirements.
- Communicate project health, risks, and issues to stakeholders and management, escalate urgent issues, and drive them to closure.
- Create visualizations, document results, and communicate findings across project teams.
Requirements
- 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
- 5+ years of programming experience with at least one software programming language.
- 5+ years of experience leading the design or architecture of new and existing systems, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead, or engineering-team leader.
- Preferred: 5+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
- Preferred: bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent.
- U.S. citizenship is required to comply with U.S. government requirements.
