Responsibilities
- Own a large portion of one of Ashby’s products and run projects from problem definition through delivery.
- Research customer and competitor needs, write product specifications, make product and design decisions, and create wireframes and prototypes.
- Build and ship end-to-end product features across frontend, backend, and infrastructure.
- Develop reusable building blocks, tools, abstractions, and product capabilities that increase engineering leverage.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, infrastructure engineers, and other stakeholders while communicating decisions and progress.
- Investigate customer issues and contribute to maintaining high-quality software.
- Help build software for talent acquisition and support expansion into products beyond talent acquisition.
Requirements
- Experience owning or leading projects end-to-end.
- Ability to work across the technology stack, including frontend, backend, and infrastructure as needed.
- Experience tackling technically and product-ambiguous problems and creating reusable abstractions.
- Ability to balance speed, quality, and urgency in a startup environment.
- Strong product judgment, technical judgment, collaboration, and communication skills.
- Ability to research customer problems and competitors, write product and technical specifications, create wireframes, and implement solutions.
- Openness to feedback and continuous skill development.
- Prior experience with the listed technology stack is not required; strong fundamentals and ability to learn quickly are valued.
- A love of typed languages is helpful.
