Base Salary
$137k - $211k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead multi-quarter platform programs spanning cloud accounts, CI/CD, identity, artifact management, and related systems.
- Set technical direction through design documents and decision records while building agreement across Engineering and Security.
- Define service levels, alerting, and on-call designs for supported platform services.
- Sequence risky changes across interconnected systems and ensure reliability fixes reach production safely.
- Identify and prioritize future team work using cost and risk analysis.
- Mentor senior engineers through design reviews while implementing critical technical changes hands-on.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional experience in software engineering, cloud or infrastructure engineering, systems or network administration, site reliability, DevOps, or platform engineering.
- Deep hands-on experience designing and operating production cloud infrastructure, containers, CI/CD, and infrastructure as code, including AWS, Kubernetes, or similar technologies.
- Experience leading technical initiatives spanning multiple systems or teams from proposal through completion.
- Experience designing for reliability and security, including access models, deployment safety, observability, and incident response.
- Experience designing Kubernetes platforms, including EKS and GitOps, and multi-account AWS organizations, IAM, and cross-account networking is desired.
- Experience securing CI/CD with federated identity, short-lived credentials, secrets management, and software supply-chain controls is desired.
- Experience setting service level objectives and alerting strategies with New Relic, PagerDuty, or similar tools is desired.
- Experience with build-versus-buy decisions, vendor evaluations, AI-assisted operational tooling, and regulated environments such as healthcare, HIPAA, or SOC 2 is desired.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Ability to influence across teams and leadership without formal authority, handle ambiguity, quantify tradeoffs, and write clear technical documents.
