
Senior Tech QA Analyst - Audio

Responsibilities
- Own stability, performance, and quality validation for shared audio systems throughout the development lifecycle.
- Create test strategies and coverage plans for technically complex audio features.
- Investigate audio issues and perform root-cause analysis using C++, Unreal Engine, Wwise, and profiling tools.
- Monitor CPU usage, memory, streaming, and runtime audio performance.
- Design and maintain automated tests, functional test environments, debugging tools, and internal QA infrastructure.
- Collaborate with Audio Code, Sound Design, Music, and QA teams to evaluate technical solutions and make quality recommendations.
- Improve testing pipelines, workflows, and QA practices by researching and integrating new technologies.
- Coordinate technical QA efforts across in-house and external teams.
- Document technical findings, conduct knowledge-sharing workshops, and mentor QA team members.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional experience in technical QA, software testing, or game development focused on complex technical systems.
- Proven experience owning quality, stability, and performance for technical features across the development cycle.
- Strong practical knowledge of Unreal Engine and C++, including the ability to read, investigate, and debug production code.
- Proficiency with Wwise, including technical debugging and performance profiling.
- Experience with Unreal Insights, PIX, or Razor for analyzing performance data, logs, and traces.
- Experience designing and implementing automated or programmatic testing solutions, pipelines, and internal tools.
- Demonstrated ability to perform root-cause analysis across complex systems.
- Ability to design comprehensive test strategies and coverage plans and make data-driven quality recommendations.
- Preferred experience in game audio technology, technical audio, or Audio QA for a shipped PC or console title.
- Preferred hands-on programming experience, test framework and internal QA tool development, CI or development-pipeline integration, audio programming knowledge, advanced Wwise skills, and experience creating debug levels, instrumentation, or visualization tools.
