Base Salary
$149k - $201k/yr
Responsibilities
- Set and own the technical direction, reference architectures, integration patterns, and guardrails for each hackathon.
- Evaluate and integrate partner technologies and third-party tools across diverse participant technology stacks.
- Identify technical risks and develop mitigation strategies with the Mission Manager.
- Represent the technical perspective in engagements with government mission heroes, industry partners, and hackathon participants.
- Translate complex technical capabilities into compelling mission-impact narratives and build stakeholder buy-in.
- Partner with the team, partners, and Mission Heroes across planning, execution, and post-event follow-up.
- Design and deliver technical programming, workshops, and participant enablement content.
- Capture technical outcomes and maintain post-event documentation for continuity and reuse.
Requirements
- Hands-on experience designing and building software systems in complex, multi-technology environments.
- Hands-on experience with UDS or similar platform abstraction and deployment frameworks.
- Experience engaging directly with government or defense stakeholders in a technical capacity and translating technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
- Experience in presales or customer-facing roles that combine technical credibility with communicating value and generating excitement.
- Understanding of software delivery and platform engineering for air-gapped environments, including offline package management, artifact distribution, and secure update mechanisms.
- Familiarity with the Department of War innovation ecosystem, including programs, procurement, and mission priorities, is preferred.
- Experience supporting or participating in hackathons, integration events, or innovation sprints in a technical leadership capacity is preferred.
- Ability to operate in ambiguous, fast-moving environments and create structure where none exists is preferred.
- A track record of delivering technical solutions that remain useful beyond the event or sprint is preferred.
