Responsibilities
- Build, tune, maintain, and improve security detection rules and alerts.
- Triage security alerts, conduct investigations, and lead incident response efforts.
- Configure Google SecOps (Chronicle), including data onboarding, parsing, rule creation, and dashboarding.
- Monitor security across macOS endpoints, Google Workspace, Okta, SaaS applications, and Google Cloud.
- Automate detection and response tasks, data parsing, and security-tool integrations using scripting.
- Translate attack techniques and threat intelligence into actionable detections.
- Continuously improve security operations and the organization’s security posture.
Requirements
- Proven experience in incident response and security operations, including alert triage, investigations, and response leadership.
- Strong detection engineering experience developing, tuning, and maintaining security detections and alerts.
- Hands-on Google SecOps (Chronicle) SIEM experience, including data onboarding, parsing, rule creation, and dashboarding.
- Experience monitoring JAMF MDM for macOS endpoints, Google Workspace, Okta, and SaaS applications.
- Experience with Google Cloud security monitoring and familiarity with Google Cloud Security Command Center.
- Solid Python or Bash scripting skills for automation and security-tool integration.
- Deep understanding of attack techniques and threat intelligence, with the ability to create actionable detections.
- Familiarity with MITRE ATT&CK, the NIST Cybersecurity Framework, and security best practices.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, investigative, and detail-oriented skills.
