Responsibilities
- Design and develop software and algorithms for Roku’s Entertainment Assistant.
- Build software components for high-availability and high-performance cloud solutions.
- Own work end to end from proof of concept through production deployment.
- Build and maintain large-scale production systems and machine learning models.
- Collaborate across teams, evaluate multiple technical solutions, and take ownership of initiatives.
Requirements
- 5+ years of industry experience applying ML/AI to NLU or a related domain, or an advanced degree with 3+ years of experience.
- Experience with big data systems including Spark, EMR, S3, and Airflow.
- Strong programming experience in Java, Python, or C++.
- Understanding of regression, classification, ranking, neural networks, and sequence models for text and speech.
- Hands-on experience building challenging large-scale production systems.
- Experience deploying and maintaining machine learning models, including identifying appropriate KPIs and objective functions.
- Advanced machine learning experience, including LLMs and generative AI.
- Experience building production NLU and/or ASR systems.
- Strong computer science fundamentals and algorithmic problem-solving ability.
- A bachelor's degree is preferred.
