Responsibilities

  • Calibrate and validate customer-facing body-control features across areas such as lighting, vehicle access, occupant protection, and cabin comfort.
  • Perform body electronics system testing and troubleshoot anomalies.
  • Drive continuous improvement in system robustness.
  • Work collaboratively with embedded development experts on automotive technology.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Eligible to work full-time, 40 hours per week, for a consecutive 12–16 month co-op term beginning January 2027.
  • Must be enrolled in a co-op program and legally entitled to work in Canada without current or future sponsorship.
  • Preferred proficiency in Embedded C and Python.
  • Preferred knowledge of GitHub, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Jira, MATLAB, and Simulink for embedded software development.
  • Strong ownership, initiative, communication, collaboration, and teamwork skills are preferred.
  • A valid Ontario G driver’s licence and automotive-related experience or club participation, such as AutoDrive or EcoCAR, are preferred.

  • Hybrid work arrangement requiring attendance at the Markham Elevation Centre and/or Oshawa Elevation Centre at least three times per week, or as otherwise directed by the business.
  • Co-op term runs 12–16 consecutive months beginning January 2027.
  • Hands-on career-specific experience through GM’s EXCEL program and exposure to future automotive technologies.
