Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize ABAP solutions for SAP HANA using pushdown principles and efficient data access patterns.
- Build CDS-based data models with associations, annotations, semantic definitions, and authorization concepts.
- Implement performance-critical logic with AMDP and SQLScript.
- Develop modular, testable ABAP code, services, and APIs using OData and contract-first design patterns.
- Build AI-enabled SAP capabilities involving LLM tool calling, retrieval-grounded outputs, prompt and context strategies, evaluation loops, and safety guardrails.
- Create automated unit, integration, and contract tests plus AI evaluation harnesses and monitoring.
- Implement logging, metrics, traces, error handling, retries, idempotency, diagnostics, and incident-response support.
- Integrate SAP and non-SAP systems through event-driven patterns, API gateways, cloud runtimes, and enterprise integration layers.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of professional experience.
- 15 years of full-time education.
- Strong hands-on expertise in ABAP development on HANA, including performance tuning and pushdown design.
- Proficiency with CDS views, modern data modeling, associations, annotations, and authorization concepts.
- Experience with AMDP and SQLScript for controlled code pushdown.
- Solid software engineering discipline covering clean design, testing, CI/CD orientation, and production readiness.
- Ability to build AI-native capabilities involving LLM integration, retrieval grounding, tool orchestration, evaluation loops, and safety boundaries.
- Knowledge of OData and service design, API lifecycle management, SAP security and authorizations, compliance, performance benchmarking, load testing, and query-plan tuning is beneficial.
