Responsibilities
- Design, build, and ship backend features independently from technical design through deployment.
- Maintain and improve existing application features.
- Write efficient, well-tested code and review code from peers and junior engineers.
- Mentor junior engineers on Python best practices and software design.
- Collaborate with QA, product, and senior engineers to deliver reliable and accurate features.
Requirements
- 3–5 years of professional experience building production software in Python.
- Experience with FastAPI or a similar web framework.
- Strong SQL skills and hands-on production experience with SQLAlchemy and PostgreSQL.
- Professional experience with Docker and Git.
- Understanding of RESTful API design, data structures, algorithms, and system design principles.
- Track record of shipping and owning production features, communicating technical decisions clearly, and working directly with product.
- Preferred: experience with ClickHouse or another columnar/OLAP database, Go or Rust, and processing large data volumes through complex data pipelines.
