Responsibilities
- Take ownership of assigned voice AI features and components through the software development lifecycle.
- Contribute to design discussions, code reviews, and best practices within the Voice AI team.
- Drive technical decisions on voice pipeline optimization, including VAD tuning and latency management.
- Plan and prioritize tasks in an Agile environment for timely delivery.
- Work with Product Managers to refine requirements for conversational AI features.
- Monitor voice platform health metrics and prioritize improvements based on data.
- Mentor junior team members in voice AI architecture and best practices.
- Encourage continuous learning and technical excellence through pair programming.
- Document voice AI patterns and operational runbooks for the team.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and validate designs.
- Coordinate with engineering teams to integrate voice agents with internal services.
- Work with analytics to ensure voice metrics flow correctly for reporting.
Requirements
- 5+ years of software development experience with Node.js and TypeScript.
- 1+ years of experience with voice AI or real-time audio systems in production.
- Hands-on experience with agentic LLM architectures and conversation state management.
- Familiarity with voice AI pipeline components like STT and TTS.
- Experience with telephony systems such as Twilio or equivalent platforms.
- Understanding of voice-specific challenges like VAD configuration and latency management.
- Solid understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
- Knowledge of microservice architecture and distributed systems best practices.
- Proficiency with AWS services and event-driven architecture.
- Strong relational database skills and exposure to NoSQL databases.
- Demonstrated teamwork skills and a collaborative mindset.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
