Tech Lead - Low-Latency FX Engineering

Base Salary
$148k - $246k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of low-latency trading systems while contributing hands-on to the codebase.
- Own technical delivery from design and implementation through testing and production rollout.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineers and promote coding, performance, and system-design best practices.
- Partner with architects, product teams, and engineering groups to deliver scalable FX trading solutions.
- Guide system architecture evolution for performance, scalability, resilience, observability, and reliability.
- Design, build, and support high-performance trading venues and services.
- Develop automation to detect, prevent, and resolve production issues while minimizing latency and downtime.
- Drive improvements in performance optimization, cost efficiency, security, developer experience, and operational excellence.
- Promote automated testing, deployment, infrastructure automation, and modern engineering practices.
Requirements
- Strong hands-on expertise in Java and a record of writing clean, efficient, production-grade code.
- Experience operating as a technical lead or senior engineer influencing design and delivery.
- Deep understanding of data structures, algorithms, system design, concurrency, multithreading, and performance optimization.
- Strong knowledge of low-latency system design and memory management.
- Experience with profiling, benchmarking, and performance-tuning tools.
- Familiarity with TCP, UDP, HTTP, and network-communication optimization techniques.
- Track record of owning and delivering complex, business-critical systems.
- Experience in agile environments and exposure to DevOps practices, including testing, deployment, and infrastructure automation.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, stakeholder-management, and cross-system investigation skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a globally distributed team while balancing technical leadership and hands-on delivery.
- Experience with cloud platforms, cloud-native architecture, SQL or NoSQL databases, and mentoring or leading engineers is desirable.
