Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and support complex software applications and infrastructure components.
  • Design and deliver software features that provide business value.
  • Identify and resolve complex application and technical problems, including off-shift and weekend support issues.
  • Mentor software engineers and provide technical guidance and assistance.
  • Establish software quality practices and encourage team growth and improvement.
  • Create structured application and interface code, program documentation, operations documentation, and user guides.
  • Communicate with end users and internal customers to guide development, debugging, and testing.
  • Plan and execute integrated testing and customer acceptance testing.

Requirements

  • Four-year degree from an accredited college or university, with a bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field required.
  • At least five years of software development experience, or at least one year with a master's degree in computer science or a related field.
  • At least three years designing and developing software applications in Java or Scala, or at least one year of Java or Scala experience with a relevant master's degree.
  • Knowledge of computer science fundamentals, including data structures and algorithms.
  • Preferred experience designing, developing, deploying, and maintaining software at scale.
  • Preferred experience with relational and NoSQL databases, application architecture, public cloud deployment, messaging, stream processing, APIs, API gateways, and software testing.
  • Preferred experience with Jenkins, GoCD, Azure DevOps, AWS, Apache Spark, Flink, Akka, Storm, Kafka, RabbitMQ, AWS SQS, AWS SNS, Apache ActiveMQ, Kinesis, Apigee Edge, Swagger, Postman, Assertible, Selenium, Cucumber, MongoDB, Cassandra, Redis, Elasticsearch, MySQL, or Oracle.
  • Ability to work under pressure and within time constraints, with strong teamwork and enthusiasm for technology.
