Responsibilities

  • Define and oversee retrieval pipelines covering chunking, semantic indexing, vector search, and reranking.
  • Establish evaluation standards, datasets, and quality practices for the DocGPT platform.
  • Set the approach for multi-tenant LLM integration, including context management, prompt engineering, cost control, and agent-based evolution.
  • Identify architectural limitations and propose proactive platform improvements.
  • Mentor junior and mid-level team members on machine learning practices and experimental rigor.
  • Advise client teams and stakeholders on AI-related topics.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of production experience in applied machine learning for information retrieval systems or NLP.
  • Proficiency in Python, LangChain, LlamaIndex, and HuggingFace Transformers.
  • Experience with RAG architectures, including OpenAI, Cohere, and BGE embedding models; Qdrant, pgvector, Weaviate, and Pinecone vector databases; and cross-encoder reranking.
  • Proficiency with Claude and OpenAI GPT APIs and advanced prompt engineering techniques such as few-shot prompting, chain-of-thought, and structured outputs.
  • Experience with RAGAS, MRR/NDCG metrics, and building evaluation datasets.
  • Familiarity with AWS, Databricks, MLflow, Feature Store, and containerized environments.
  • Demonstrated technical leadership, comfort with ambiguity, and strong communication skills.
