Responsibilities
- Own major projects and features from design and prototyping through implementation, testing, deployment, monitoring, and upgrades.
- Develop scalable, resilient distributed applications, APIs, event-processing systems, and batch jobs.
- Build and maintain automated unit, integration, and end-to-end tests.
- Develop prototypes and support continuous integration and delivery.
- Support software releases and site-wide upgrades, including security patching.
- Review code, provide implementation feedback, and mentor junior developers.
- Support production systems through incident response, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, issue triage, and reliability improvements.
- Collaborate with product, data science, and AI teams to integrate ML models into production.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field with 2+ years of experience, or a Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of relevant experience.
- At least 5 years of practical experience designing and developing distributed systems.
- Strong proficiency with Java 17+, Spring Framework, and Spring Boot.
- Understanding of Spring Batch, object-oriented programming, and data structures and algorithms.
- Experience with microservices architecture and cloud-native design patterns.
- Experience with high-throughput event-processing systems such as Kafka, JMS, or MQ, and with relational or NoSQL databases.
- Experience building and maintaining RESTful APIs using technologies such as Jersey and Spring MVC.
- 1–2 years of experience contributing to or integrating ML models into production.
- Experience with Agile and DevOps practices, CI/CD, and test-driven development using JUnit and Mockito.
- Familiarity with AWS, Azure, or GCP cloud infrastructure and containerization.
- Experience supporting production systems, diagnosing distributed-service issues, mentoring junior developers, and performing thorough code reviews.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills; machine learning education is a plus.
