Responsibilities
- Lead solution-engineering integrations involving satellite imagery and full-motion video for UAS visual positioning, odometry, and navigation systems.
- Interface with defense customers, UAV OEMs, and integration partners during demonstrations, field testing, and prototype development.
- Configure Jetson and Raspberry Pi companion computers and PX4 or ArduPilot autopilot stacks while analyzing telemetry, imagery, and positioning data.
- Evaluate integration feasibility, including SWaP requirements, solution design, and deployment readiness.
- Develop integration procedures, test plans, and troubleshooting guides.
- Provide product-engineering feedback to improve usability, reliability, and field performance.
- Co-develop technical content for RFPs, RFIs, and tenders.
- Define and validate interfaces and data flows between products and OEM systems such as flight controllers and companion computers.
- Shape the technical positioning of company capabilities with high-value customers.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline such as Aerospace, Computer Science, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or Math, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience supporting ISR, UAS, aerospace, or defense system integrations.
- Proficiency in Python and C++ for software integration, SDK adaptation, and prototype development.
- Experience with ISR-relevant imagery and video formats including GeoTIFF, MPEG-TS, KLV metadata, H.264/H.265, STANAG 4609, and MISB.
- Understanding of 3D terrain data formats such as DEM/DTED and Cesium 3D Tiles, along with coordinate systems such as WGS84 and UTM.
- Familiarity with OpenCV, PyTorch, GDAL, Cesium, or Unity.
- Practical knowledge of embedded Linux platforms such as NVIDIA Jetson, Raspberry Pi, and NXP and their deployment environments.
- Ability to collaborate across engineering, product, and field teams to deliver customer outcomes.
- Willingness and ability to travel domestically or internationally, averaging approximately 25% with peaks up to 50%.
