Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain backend services, RESTful APIs, and enterprise integration components for mission-critical healthcare applications.
- Implement business logic, service orchestration, data-access layers, and secure service-to-service communication.
- Build scalable, maintainable, and secure server-side solutions using approved architectures and secure coding practices.
- Collaborate with frontend developers, architects, QA engineers, DevSecOps teams, and product stakeholders.
- Participate in technical design, estimation, code reviews, troubleshooting, defect resolution, release activities, and production support.
- Optimize backend performance, reliability, error handling, monitoring, logging, and observability.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of backend software engineering or enterprise application development experience.
- Hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, RESTful services, API development, SQL, relational databases, and backend data-processing patterns.
- Experience with enterprise integration patterns, authentication methods, secure service-to-service communication, Git-based version control, and CI/CD workflows.
- Strong debugging, troubleshooting, analytical, code-quality, secure-coding, and enterprise software development skills.
- Ability to collaborate across engineering, QA, DevSecOps, architecture, and product teams in Agile delivery environments.
- U.S. citizenship, successful completion of a background check, and ability to obtain and maintain a Government/Public Trust clearance when required.
- Preferred qualifications include healthcare integrations, FHIR APIs, enterprise messaging standards, healthcare interoperability workflows, InterSystems IRIS, AWS cloud services, container platforms, deployment automation, observability technologies, federal technology programs, and relevant certifications.
