Responsibilities
- Build working prototypes of developer surfaces, tooling integrations, and applications on open source AI infrastructure.
- Utilize coding agents and AI-assisted development tools as a core part of the workflow.
- Translate concepts and strategy ideas into demonstrations for community events and content.
- Collaborate with social media and community teams to create understandable and shareable demos.
- Contribute to Mozilla's open source repositories and ensure code is community-friendly.
- Stay informed about the open source AI ecosystem to identify gaps and opportunities.
- Evaluate open source AI tools and stacks based on practical building experience.
Requirements
- Solid software engineering fundamentals with readable code.
- Comfortable working with coding agents and AI-assisted development tools.
- Experience with the open source AI stack and building on open models.
- Fluency in Python and/or TypeScript with adaptability to project needs.
- Experience building APIs and developer-facing tools.
- Strong understanding of what makes a prototype useful for conversation.
- Comfortable working in public and open repositories.
- Strong written communication skills for technical explanations.
