Responsibilities

Build and maintain scalable APIs and microservices supporting Nevis’s platform.
Design and evolve distributed systems for automation, integrations, and client operations.
Develop efficient Java code using Java 17/21.
Own greenfield development and improve or refactor existing systems.
Ensure system reliability and performance through monitoring and observability.
Collaborate with AI engineers, product managers, and designers to ship features.
Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and technical planning.

At least 6 years of experience in backend engineering and high-performance distributed systems.
Strong fluency in Java and deep understanding of backend design patterns and principles.
Hands-on experience with microservice architecture, APIs, PostgreSQL, Redis, and database systems.
A solid foundation in computer science, mathematics, or a related field.
Comfort working in cloud environments, particularly AWS.
Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
Fluency in English.
Prior experience in financial services, fintech, startups, product-focused engineering, or building systems for scale is preferred.
