Base Salary
$145k - $222k/yr
Responsibilities
- Architect scalable and resilient distributed systems, including service boundaries, data contracts, and cross-team API standards.
- Build responsive, high-performance applications using React, Node.js, Tailwind, and related technologies.
- Develop and operate cloud-native services using Azure, AWS, or GCP, along with containers and microservices.
- Optimize platform performance, observability, and developer productivity.
- Use AI tooling and automation for code generation, test generation, and engineering workflows.
- Establish AI-first engineering practices, including human-in-the-loop development, debugging, and productivity improvements.
- Mentor and upskill developers, build consensus, and help redefine the software development lifecycle.
- Evaluate emerging technologies, trends, and best practices to strengthen CoStar’s technology platform.
- Maintain working knowledge of the commercial real estate industry and CoStar’s business model and technology.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited, not-for-profit, in-person university or college.
- At least 8 years of production development experience with modern technologies such as React, Vue, TypeScript, Node.js, C#, .NET, OpenSearch, Kafka, SQL, and NoSQL.
- Demonstrated success building and launching products and platforms.
- Experience designing for high availability, horizontal scalability, and production observability at enterprise scale.
- Experience with cloud technologies such as AWS and cloud-managed services.
- Experience with Agile/Scrum processes and continuous delivery practices.
- Experience with unit, performance, and automation testing.
- Ability to understand the business drivers behind the software being built.
- Experience mentoring developers and building consensus.
- Preferred experience managing large enterprise codebases, code quality, and dependencies.
- Preferred experience with C#, Node.js, and/or React, and with building AI-pattern-based agents and workflows.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Commercial real estate knowledge is a bonus.
