AES - Software Engineer - Calls
HARMAN InternationalResponsibilities
- Review software specifications, architecture, and design documents and clarify requirements with internal and external stakeholders.
- Create component design documents and develop embedded software components using C++ and Linux.
- Perform functional, unit, and system testing, participate in code and design reviews, and ensure software requirements are met.
- Analyze existing embedded software to add features, modify behavior, fix bugs, and port software to different platforms.
- Debug software using gdb, perform root-cause analysis, implement fixes, and verify their effectiveness.
- Develop and improve software for automotive telematics calling functionality, including complex tasks and risk assessments for critical fixes.
- Coordinate software development with team leaders, customers, peers, and other HARMAN groups, including occasional travel.
- May direct the work of one or two other engineers and coordinate resources when required.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or another relevant IT-connected specialization.
- At least 3 years of experience as a software developer, including at least 3 years of C++ experience.
- Expertise in Linux and experience developing embedded applications and working with embedded operating systems.
- Knowledge of inter-process communication, threading, and socket communication.
- Working knowledge of software development processes and strong written and verbal English communication skills.
- Preferred experience includes multithreading, asynchronous modem middleware programming, eSIM, VoLTE, 3GPP, telecommunications, call workflows, VoIP, automotive systems, SOME/IP, CAPI, TCP, UDP, UML, Linux kernel operation, and connectivity technologies.
- Preferred knowledge includes Ethernet, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 3G/4G, RedBend software updates, diagnostics, DTCs, secure boot, TEE, and DEV/Sec mode switching.
- Willingness to travel 0–20% of the time depending on project needs.
