Responsibilities
- Design and build isolated, secure, reusable lab environments representing production scenarios across cloud, on-premises, and hybrid infrastructure.
- Provision and manage multi-component environments containing controllers, agents, databases, endpoint systems, and vendor dependencies.
- Develop automated, repeatable provisioning pipelines and maintain infrastructure templates, golden images, environment definitions, playbooks, and modules.
- Configure and troubleshoot virtual networks, subnets, routing, load balancers, NAT gateways, VPNs, firewalls, proxies, and segmented or multi-region deployments.
- Support integration workflows involving APIs, webhooks, event-driven systems, authentication, retries, rate limits, mock services, and simulators.
- Implement logging, monitoring, tracing, traffic inspection, API tracing, and log correlation to validate environment health and resolve integration issues.
- Apply credential and secrets management, network isolation, access control, and internal security and compliance policies.
- Collaborate with engineering, product, and external vendors and create setup guides, architecture diagrams, runbooks, and troubleshooting documentation.
- Enable self-service use of lab environments for development teams.
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering, DevOps, or similar roles with hands-on Python scripting.
- Hands-on experience with Terraform, Packer, and Ansible, including maintaining roles, modules, and playbooks through team-based pull-request review.
- Experience deploying and managing workloads on at least two of VMware vSphere/ESXi, AWS, Azure, GCP, or Proxmox.
- Understanding of VM lifecycles, networking, snapshots, containerization, and orchestration; Docker, Kubernetes, or OpenShift experience is preferred.
- Linux system administration and shell scripting experience, with Python-based automation capabilities.
- Experience building and consuming APIs and working with programmatic provisioning platforms.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Git, GitHub, pull-request contribution, and peer-review workflows.
- Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills, including experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Splunk, Grafana, or Nagios.
- Experience with enterprise-scale virtualization deployments such as VMware Horizon, App Volumes, or vSphere is preferred.
- Security domain knowledge relevant to detection engineering and SOC workflows, including attack scenarios, incident response, or threat-informed defense, is valued.
- Experience with Windows Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Windows Server infrastructure is a strong plus.
- Knowledge of incident and change management practices and pre-production review processes is preferred.
- Cloud or virtualization certifications such as AWS SysOps, Terraform Associate, VCP, VCAP, or VCIX are preferred.
- Strong collaboration, documentation, and communication skills are required.
