Responsibilities
- Define technical direction and architecture for a product area spanning multiple teams.
- Independently address significant, unique, and high-ambiguity technical problems.
- Partner with Staff and Principal-level peers and Product and UX leadership to align technical roadmaps with business strategy.
- Build cross-group networks and serve as a recognized technical authority beyond the immediate team.
- Establish engineering standards adopted organization-wide within the domain.
- Mentor Staff Engineers and contribute to technical leveling and promotion calibration.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 10+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- Demonstrated experience shaping architecture or technical direction across multiple teams.
- Expertise in distributed systems, cloud architecture, and relevant frontend and backend technologies.
- Experience mentoring senior engineers and contributing to technical leveling decisions.
- Professional hands-on experience using AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, Devin, Windsurf, or similar.
