Base Salary
$80k - $90k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Python and FastAPI.
- Build scalable APIs for healthcare data ingestion, processing, scoring, and reporting.
- Develop and maintain endpoints for file uploads, data validation, and export capabilities.
- Implement processing patterns, thread pools, and dependency injection.
- Create reusable code using Python best practices, type hints, and data-class-based models.
- Develop and maintain CCDA parsing and data extraction capabilities using lxml and XPath.
- Extract, analyze, and score clinical information.
- Enhance data quality scoring algorithms and clinical coverage assessment logic.
- Implement security and governance best practices.
- Support healthcare interoperability and clinical data quality initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 5 years of Python backend development experience, including production service design and deployment.
- Experience owning architecture decisions involving service boundaries, data models, and API contracts.
- Hands-on experience with FastAPI routers, dependency injection, file uploads, streaming responses, static file serving, and same-origin deployment.
- Strong experience parsing XML with lxml and XPath.
- Strong SQL experience and query troubleshooting skills, including identifying poor-performing code and developing remediation actions.
- Knowledge of HIPAA compliance and data privacy standards.
- Understanding of QA methodologies, test planning, and defect tracking.
- Preferred knowledge of US healthcare interoperability, HEDIS, and CCDA / HL7 CDA R2 document structures.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and design-thinking skills.
