Responsibilities
- Lead technical discovery, client-facing workshops, and translation of business requirements into technical decisions.
- Define implementation boundaries across Contentful, frontend functionality, AWS integration and middleware services, and backend business logic.
- Design API contracts and integration patterns connecting Contentful, the frontend, identity/profile services, and enterprise systems.
- Review and evolve Contentful content models, composition rules, and reusable content patterns.
- Turn discovery outcomes into technical scope, architecture, and an actionable implementation backlog.
- Provide technical leadership, hands-on guidance, code reviews, and support for complex engineering decisions.
- Promote engineering practices covering security, performance, automated testing, CI/CD, monitoring, and observability.
Requirements
- Strong commercial experience with Contentful and headless CMS architectures.
- Strong production experience with React and TypeScript.
- Practical knowledge of AWS cloud services and integration layers.
- Strong understanding of API design, middleware, and system integration patterns.
- Experience designing enterprise architectures in which a headless CMS integrates with APIs, identity/profile services, and other systems.
- Proven experience leading technical discovery, requirements analysis, and solution design.
- Strong client-facing communication skills and ability to explain technical trade-offs to technical and business stakeholders.
- Experience providing technical leadership while remaining hands-on when needed.
- Fluency in English.
- Bonus: experience with Contentful Personalisation, composable or MACH-style architectures, server-side rendered React applications, AWS infrastructure as code, automated environment provisioning, or Contentful/AWS certifications.
