Responsibilities
- Act as the primary security team point of contact for multiple large engineering initiatives.
- Conduct security reviews, threat modeling, findings tracking, and risk communication throughout the development lifecycle.
- Guide engineering partners in implementing secure designs and making informed risk decisions.
- Define, automate, and advocate for platform-wide security improvements.
- Develop proof-of-concept systems for security recommendations, vulnerability discovery, and workflow automation.
- Use data to improve security-review efficiency and prioritize high-value engagements.
- Make security decisions affecting Apple's internet-facing services, backend infrastructure, and millions of users.
Requirements
- 10 or more years conducting security reviews, threat modeling, tracking findings, and communicating risk to engineering and leadership.
- Knowledge of distributed-systems design patterns and their security implications at cloud scale.
- Deep understanding of cloud-native architectures and managed compute, storage, networking, and database services.
- Experience designing and securing multi-tenant SaaS and PaaS offerings.
- Conversant in at least one programming language such as Python, Java, Go, or Swift.
- Experience with security-standard processes in third-party cloud environments.
- Experience securing container orchestration systems such as Kubernetes is preferred.
- Experience with Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning is a plus.
- A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is preferred.
- Community contributions such as public CVEs, bug-bounty recognition, open-source tools, or technical blogs are a bonus.
