Responsibilities
- Build and maintain internal AI tooling for coding assistance, test generation, deployments, defect triage, and release automation.
- Add observability to AI-assisted engineering pipelines and track metrics such as cycle time, defect escape rate, test coverage, and delivery turnaround.
- Identify manual coding, testing, and release activities suitable for unattended automation and build solutions to automate them.
- Integrate LLM-based developer tools with Jira, Confluence, GitLab, and CI/CD environments.
- Work with testing and product management teams on exploratory test generation, defect clustering, flaky-test detection, and test prioritization.
- Define and refine responsible AI standards covering data handling, prompt hygiene, and production and customer-data guardrails.
- Collaborate with security and compliance teams to meet regulatory and data-handling requirements.
- Mentor less experienced engineers on effective AI-tool usage and support continuous AI adoption across the team.
Requirements
- Extensive professional software engineering experience with strong technical judgment on production systems.
- Hands-on expertise in Java or a comparable backend service ecosystem.
- Strong fluency in test-driven development and pair programming.
- Experience designing, building, deploying, and supporting features or systems in production.
- A strong interest in aggressive automation and removing manual engineering steps.
- Some experience evaluating or using LLM-based developer tools in a real engineering environment.
- Preferred: experience with MCP, agentic tooling, or Spec Driven Development.
- Preferred: familiarity with the Atlassian ecosystem, including Jira, Confluence, and their APIs.
- Preferred: experience in financial services, trading platforms, or another regulated, high-reliability environment.
