Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable Search Platform capabilities using OpenSearch and Elasticsearch.
- Build cloud-native services and REST APIs supporting search functionality.
- Develop batch and near-real-time data ingestion and ETL pipelines to ingest, transform, validate, and publish enterprise data.
- Optimize indexing, document synchronization, search performance, platform scalability, reliability, and resiliency.
- Implement monitoring, logging, alerting, automation, and CI/CD practices.
- Troubleshoot production issues and support platform stability, availability, and performance.
- Participate in architecture, engineering design, and code reviews.
- Mentor engineers and promote engineering best practices.
- Collaborate with Agile engineering, platform, and product teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer information systems, or a related field, or equivalent years of experience in lieu of the education requirement if applicable.
- At least 5 years of experience in software development or a related field.
- At least 4 years of experience in frontend technologies, middleware, database technologies, or DevOps.
- At least 4 years of experience implementing solutions through software development life cycles and iterative Agile development.
- Expertise with OpenSearch or Elasticsearch, including high-volume ingestion, indexing, document synchronization, and performance optimization.
- Strong Python programming skills; Java experience is a plus.
- Experience building batch and near-real-time data ingestion and ETL pipelines.
- Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform technologies, including Apache Beam, Dataflow, Dataproc, Pub/Sub, BigQuery, Cloud Storage, and Cloud Composer.
- Experience developing cloud-native applications, REST APIs, microservices, and distributed systems.
- Experience with CI/CD, Git, monitoring, logging, and production support.
- Preferred qualifications include a master’s degree, AI/ML data pipeline and AI-enabled search experience, Apache Spark and large-scale distributed computing experience, OpenSearch/Elasticsearch cluster optimization, Terraform or similar infrastructure as code, Prometheus, Grafana, or Cloud Monitoring, retail/e-commerce/search experience, and Google Cloud certifications.
