Base Salary

$138k - $173k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement intelligent search systems using typeahead search, vector search, and ML personalization signals.
  • Design and develop scalable serving systems for ML and GenAI/LLM models.
  • Build platform features such as CLI, SDK, infrastructure automation, and platform applications for ML and GenAI/LLM development and deployment.
  • Develop data governance, data testing, data security, privacy, and production data product capabilities.
  • Build and maintain data pipelines supporting production ML and GenAI/LLM infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams, data scientists, and analysts to productionize, analyze, and validate AI-powered insights.
  • Combine outputs from retrieval systems and personalization models to improve search relevance and user experience.
  • Conduct design process reviews, uphold development standards, and share best practices in reliability, automation, and data quality.
  • Work with leadership to drive adoption of ML and GenAI/LLM solutions across product engineering teams.
  • Provide technical leadership, own projects, define technical direction, and mentor junior engineers.

Requirements

  • 5–7+ years of relevant experience developing code in core programming languages such as Python or Java.
  • At least 1 year of production experience with vector search, semantic search, or embedding-based retrieval systems.
  • At least 1 year of experience with typeahead or autocomplete systems and ML signals for query understanding or ranking.
  • At least 1 year of experience deploying scalable, correct, and maintainable ML and GenAI/LLM models.
  • Hands-on experience with ML frameworks, libraries, LLM frameworks, and one or more ML or GenAI/LLM cloud services.
  • At least 4 years of experience designing and building software architecture, including scalable architectures for ML and LLM workflows.
  • Deep knowledge of data structures, distributed computing, and software engineering principles.
  • At least 3 years of technical leadership experience owning projects and defining technical direction.
  • Experience with relevant data, streaming, infrastructure, and orchestration tools such as Flink, Spark, Kafka, Amazon Kinesis, Terraform, and Airflow.
  • Experience working in AWS, GCP, or Azure cloud environments.
  • Experience designing and building production data pipelines for ML and GenAI/LLM infrastructure.
  • Experience with vector databases and retrieval-augmented generation workflows is a plus.
  • Databricks and Unity Catalog experience is a plus.
  • Ability to communicate findings through dashboards or data modeling and motivate junior engineers on best practices.
