Base Salary
$155k - $215k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and build new backend services and APIs from scratch.
- Develop distributed systems that meet scalability, latency, performance, and reliability requirements.
- Own services end-to-end across design, implementation, deployment, and operations.
- Debug production issues and improve system resilience over time.
- Apply sound trade-offs across performance, consistency, complexity, and maintainability.
- Work with event-driven systems, messaging and pub-sub architectures, caching, batch processing, data pipelines, monitoring, logging, and observability.
- Collaborate with globally distributed teams and business stakeholders.
Requirements
- Strong proficiency in Java and Python for backend application development.
- 10+ years of relevant experience.
- Experience building scalable REST APIs and distributed systems.
- Hands-on experience with multi-threaded and event-driven systems.
- Experience with messaging, pub-sub systems, and event-driven architectures.
- Knowledge of object-oriented design, design patterns, data structures, dependency injection, AOP, transaction management, databases, caching, connection pooling, and resource management.
- Understanding of security fundamentals including authentication, authorization, and encryption.
- Experience with unit testing, CI/CD pipelines, and agile development practices.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and system-design skills.
- Preferred experience with batch processing, data pipelines, and BDD testing frameworks and tools.
