Responsibilities
- Implement Prime Brokerage solutions across FX and Equities using modern cloud-native technologies and development workflows.
- Design, develop, test, and improve application features, system architecture, scalability, automation, and product quality.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across trading, quantitative, product, payments, end-user, and technology teams to deliver data-driven solutions.
- Build new systems, replace legacy systems, and renovate existing applications.
- Provide third-line support for production systems and troubleshoot software, hardware, and network issues.
- Define and implement departmental engineering best practices and maintain transparent, consistent processes.
- Ensure adherence to documented policies and procedures and maintain current supporting documentation.
- Mentor junior team members and provide detailed technical analysis and feedback.
Requirements
- Master’s degree or above, or equivalent education, in a STEM discipline.
- Proven experience in software engineering and development with a strong understanding of computer systems.
- Hands-on experience with Java and Spring.
- Understanding of ultra-low-latency development practices and strong SQL/database skills.
- Strong understanding of messaging technologies such as Kafka, Solace, and MQ, plus production-scale caching technologies.
- Experience building new systems, replacing legacy systems, and modernizing existing systems.
- Experience using AI coding tools such as Devin, Claude Code, and Codex to deliver production-grade applications.
- Systems knowledge spanning software, hardware, and networks, with the ability to define solutions and troubleshoot issues.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills across technical teams and enterprise stakeholders.
- Highly credible hands-on engineering capability, including deep codebase analysis and constructive technical feedback.
- FX knowledge is highly preferred; OpenShift, Kubernetes, and KDB knowledge are beneficial.
- Awareness of industry trends and the ability to apply new technologies appropriately.
