Responsibilities
- Develop changes to an ecommerce payments gateway using Java and PL/SQL.
- Review payment-processing business processes, production data, product code, and payments-industry specifications to scope and specify work.
- Participate in code reviews, pair with other engineers, and help grow team capabilities.
- Collaborate with test engineers on test coverage and approach, including contributing to automated integration and system tests.
- Design rollout and monitoring approaches for new features.
- Provide periodic support outside normal office hours for release deployments on a rotating schedule.
Requirements
- Experience delivering software in precision-critical industries and solving complex business problems.
- Knowledge of Java or a related object-oriented programming language.
- Knowledge of object-oriented design patterns and SOLID development principles.
- Ability to write code that interacts effectively with large databases.
- Knowledge of SQL-based database systems, ideally Oracle or a similar system.
- Experience with very large codebases and version control systems.
- Experience using Linux in development and production environments.
- Preferred: financial services experience; familiarity with Scrum, Kanban, or SAFe; cloud technology experience; and knowledge of enterprise compute, storage, and networking technologies.
