Responsibilities
- Advise customers on designing, operating, and optimizing MongoDB solutions and architectures.
- Resolve complex customer issues involving architecture, performance, recovery, security, and large-scale MongoDB operations.
- Serve as an expert resource on operating MongoDB at scale and advocate for customer needs with product management and development teams.
- Develop internal support tools for performance, benchmarking, diagnostics, AI-assisted diagnostics, performance analysis, and knowledge discovery.
- Document solutions in the knowledge platform and write knowledge base articles.
- Deliver training and workshops, share technical knowledge, and mentor new team members.
- Explore and teach new product capabilities across the MongoDB ecosystem.
- Complete new-hire training, the MongoDB Certified DBA Associate exam, and progressively handle technical escalations independently.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of proven experience, with consideration for self-taught and multifaceted candidates.
- Systems engineering experience covering Linux performance, memory management, I/O tuning, configuration, security, networking, clusters, and troubleshooting.
- Understanding of Kubernetes concepts including containers, namespaces, custom resources, and multi-cluster deployments.
- Understanding of networking concepts and protocols including DNS, TCP/IP, and SSL/TLS.
- Storage engineering experience with NAS, SAN, SSD, multi-pathing, and caching.
- Experience building and maintaining complex mission-critical production database systems.
- Ability to analyze issues from the application tier through the database and down to storage.
- Ability to read code and basic coding or scripting ability in one or more listed languages.
- Bonus experience with large-scale RDBMS or NoSQL databases, LDAP, Kerberos, AD, MongoDB, Git, AWS, Azure, GCP, and Kubernetes CLI utilities.
- Strong customer service, problem-solving, collaboration, judgment, and ability to learn new technical skills.
