Responsibilities
- Interface with technical personnel and team members to finalize requirements.
- Write and review detailed specifications for complex system components.
- Design, develop, and implement software across multiple systems and product areas.
- Complete complex bug fixes and resolve complex technical issues.
- Translate complex product requirements into software designs.
- Implement development processes, coding best practices, and code reviews.
- Work in Agile, Waterfall, and other development environments with key stakeholders.
- Design and work with complex data models and multiple data storage subsystems.
- Mentor and train entry-level and less-senior software engineers on methodologies and optimization techniques.
- Communicate with users and customers to translate requests into software solutions.
- Keep current with new technology developments and applicable tool sets.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of software engineering experience.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or computer science, or equivalent experience.
- Advanced knowledge of software development methodologies.
- Strong proficiency with data manipulation languages and optimization techniques.
- Strong understanding of normalized and dimensional data modeling principles.
- Strong knowledge of multiple data storage subsystems.
- Expertise with development languages and technologies including Java/J2EE, JavaScript, JSP, C/C++, HTML, XML, SQL, Windows, UNIX, and .NET.
- Strong research skills and knowledge of industry development best practices.
- Knowledge of using and developing applicable tool sets.
- Knowledge of test-driven development.
- Ability to write and review detailed specifications and complete complex bug fixes.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external technical resources.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
