Senior Java Software Engineer
GE VernovaResponsibilities
- Identify work scope, provide evidence-based estimates, and deliver tasks aligned with product release goals.
- Participate in technical discussions, designs, whiteboarding, design feedback, and technology impact assessments.
- Design interfaces and information exchange between reusable software modules.
- Write standards-compliant Java code using core data structures, algorithms, and appropriate design patterns.
- Maintain code quality through peer review, unit testing, testing automation, and development best practices.
- Work with Product Line Leaders to understand product requirements and vision while collaborating with global stakeholders and customers.
Requirements
- Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, with advanced experience.
- Strong knowledge of object-oriented analysis and design, software design patterns, and Java coding principles.
- Hands-on experience with REST, SOAP, WSDL, Apache Commons, Maven, and SQL databases such as PostgreSQL, Oracle, and Microsoft SQL Server.
- Hands-on experience with Spring Framework Core, MVC, Integration, and Data.
- Understanding of software development lifecycle practices, source control tools such as Git, DevOps, testing, estimation, design, documentation, and peer review.
- Ability to work with global teams and accommodate time-zone flexibility, with fluency in English.
- Preferred experience with ActiveMQ Artemis, RabbitMQ, Apache Kafka, microservices architecture, GitHub Copilot, GWT, Angular, and TypeScript.
