Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Design, develop, maintain, and support Windows features, system tools, services, APIs, diagnostics infrastructure, and user-facing experiences.
- Own multiple Task Manager and system component features from architecture and implementation through testing, deployment, monitoring, and production support.
- Solve complex Windows customer-reported problems and develop expertise in Windows internals, debugging, secure coding, performance, reliability, and compatibility.
- Write extensible, maintainable product code and apply engineering best practices, including diagnosability, reliability, and operational readiness.
- Create test plans and success criteria, improve test coverage, and contribute automated, integration, regression, accessibility, performance, and compatibility testing.
- Integrate instrumentation and use telemetry, experimentation, dashboards, and data pipelines to understand system behavior, performance, reliability, availability, usage, and safety.
- Drive features through design, implementation, experimentation, flighting, localization, validation, deployment, and production rollout.
- Apply or integrate AI-powered capabilities where they improve Windows diagnostics, troubleshooting, automation, insights, or user experiences.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field and 2+ years of technical engineering experience coding in C++ or equivalent experience.
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements, including the Microsoft Cloud Background Check.
- Preferred: master’s degree and 3+ years of technical engineering experience coding in C++, or bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of such experience, or equivalent experience.

- The typical U.S. base pay range is USD $102,100–$202,200 per year, with a separate range for the San Francisco Bay Area and New York City metropolitan area.
